HADAL (for piano, live electronics, and audio visualization) HADAL (for piano, live electronics, and audio visualization) is inspired by the deepest part of the ocean, the hadal zone. The ocean itself is a distant place for human beings but is also a mysterious realm of imagination. A dark ocean so deep that no light can reach it. It has been explored a few times by mankind, but there is still much more we don't know. As the earth outside the water has changed at an incredible rate with the development of civilization, this pitch-black space has changed in its own patterns and pace, different from the continental surroundings. In this work, I focused on the image of change that the ultra-deep ocean gives me. Technically, the piano part of this piece is generated by a CAC algorithmic composition system called kcac which is based on Max’s bach package. The real-time digital audio processors for live electronics are designed by Max. The generative visual image which is being interacted with real-time audio is created via touchdesigner
