Biography
Jinwoong Kim (ZINUN) is a multidisciplinary artist working across visual art, sound, and performance. He explores relationships between image, sound, space, and movement through audiovisual installations, performances, and other forms of media art.
He develops custom software and real-time systems to shape how images emerge, sounds change, objects move, and spatial relationships unfold. Autonomous movement in virtual environments, performers’ decisions, and audience participation take different roles across his works. Moving from artistic concept to technical realization, he explores how designed rules become experiences of seeing, listening, and inhabiting a space, bringing different media into a shared sensory and spatial experience.
He holds a Ph.D. in Intermedia Arts from Tokyo University of the Arts and is an Assistant Professor of Digital Media Design at Yonsei University’s Mirae Campus. Connecting artistic practice with technological research, he pursues research and teaching in creative coding, computational design, and media art.
His works have been presented in Tokyo, Japan; Hamburg, Germany; New York, USA; and Chile. His installations and audiovisual works have been shown at the Asia Culture Center and the University Art Museum, Tokyo University of the Arts. His international presentations also include the International Computer Music Conference (ICMC) and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival.
